This diary dates back to a holiday in 2003 when I think the urge to get back into fishing took off. From around 2007 the trips became more frequent with 2010/11 probably being the peak of activity.
Things again pick up in 2020 - a sort of rebirth!

My trusty headcam expired on 16 August and after trying the alternative of filming with my iPhone, using a neck hoop to mount it, I decided that that didn't really work. After considering other options, such as using a static rather than body-mounted camera, I opted for a GoPro camera, which I'm hoping will give far better results when mounted on the neck hoop.

I didn't replace the headcam like for like as I felt it was unacceptable that it had failed after just only three years of use. Fingers crossed the GoPro will last somewhat longer.

I have been 'messing about' with computers since the 1980s and already had a fishing diary on my personal website. But I thought the time had come to give fishing its own site so I've transferred the diary and added some extra features to the new site.

In my previous video I included a short section describing my new video camera. I thought it might be useful if I were to share my experiences and thoughts on this device, which I have found to be ideal for creating fishing videos. In this video I describe the device and the accessories, and explain how it interacts with the associated app. I also mention some little problems I have experienced, none of which has dissuaded me from recommending this camera.

Having been out of action for a few weeks I thought I should provide you with a quick update. However, my absence coincided with some pretty dire conditions on the River Ouse so I probably haven't missed much.

In this short video I also discuss how I make my fishing videos, the equipment I use and the editing software.
